About

Mountains Apart is a musical collective started by musician Alex Wise. Throughout his 25+ year career producing, engineering, writing, and playing music, Wise has befriended many eclectic and talented musicians. He created the Mountains Apart collective to bring their talent to a single platform.

While Alex is the primary lead in the creative process, the collection of musicians featured in Mountains Apart all bring their own unique talent, creativity, and spin to the table.

The result is music that highlights the best of each of them.

A musical collective is a flexible and changing ensemble of musicians as opposed to a traditional band. Musical collectives are collaborative efforts that allow musicians to rotate in an out of the lineup based on the desired outcome for the music.

JOHN MOROSKI

John Moroski is a New York based acoustic guitarist, singer and performer. Though his main career is in Corporate IT (he holds a BS in Computer Science and MS in Information Systems Management), he has been delighting audiences since he was 10 years old. Growing up in northeast PA, John performed with a Beatles cover band and an acoustic trio all throughout the Pennsylvania Pocono Mountain resort area -- until he move out to the NJ/NY area, where he continued to perform as a solo act. In the last 10 years, John has performed with a variety of other very talented musicians. Though his repertoire generally consists of a refreshing mix of Pop, Rock and Indie covers, John is an accomplished acoustic guitarist with a smooth and engaging voice. With no formal training, John organically developed his own unique, rich and layered percussive finger-style approach which he cleverly exploits when performing seemingly simple 4-chord cover songs -- tricking the listener into thinking they're hearing a full production. In the last several years, John mainly performs as a duo alternately with two talented young female performers. They perform a very refreshing, eclectic and audience-pleasing mix of current and classic Pop, Rock and Indie tunes in restaurants, bars, vineyards, banquet venues, and private parties in the Lower Hudson region. He also performs often with Alex Wise and Steve Adler under the Mountains Apart collective.
